How extracurriculars have enriched my BYU experience

  1. I know exactly how you felt when you talked about "floating along amidst the masses, not feeling like I had anything to offer." I felt the same way for my first couple semesters back at BYU. It's so easy to just float along like that, especially at a university as large and homogeneous as BYU, which is one of the reasons I'm excited to be on the council. I think we have an excellent opportunity to help other students quit "floating along" and start being involved and making the most of their time here.

  2. This is partly why I joined the Council in the first place... I knew I wanted to be more involved and do something that could benefit others. I sometimes worry that it does more for us as council members than for the other students, but I think we can find a balance where we learn and grow as we try to help others.

  3. I really dig your design on this. It's super simple and text based, but still eye-catching. The color scheme is great too. Do you use power point? As for your content... it's so true about blending in and feeling lost in the crowd. I'm happy the Council has helped you find a way out of that feeling. I kind of feel like for me, it helped me actually find a way to express my over-achieving-ness (which I thought I'd left behind in high school since it is so hard to stand out at this university). I'm glad you got involved!
