My Experimental Laboratory

  1. Wow! I've always wanted to learn how to sew. Don't get me wrong, I can do the minimal things like sew on a button or patch a pair of jeans. But, actually creating something to wear from scratch...that's something I have wanted to learn for a long time. I am amazed by people like you who have developed such a rare skill. I know it takes a ton of patience and time.

But I can relate to you in a way. When you look at clothing, you imagine how it was created. When I hear music, I pick out all the different instruments and even add some additional harmonizing. I think about how all the sounds come together and I listen for the small add-ins that are easy to miss if you aren't listening carefully.

I love that we all have the limitless power to create. It's empowering and beautiful.

  2. This was great, though the format made it a little hard to view. I do this sort of thing with music and writing. You have to go off and experiment, push yourself out of your comfort zone. I was thinking about this a lot while skiing yesterday. If you do what you're comfortable with or are afraid to experiment, you'll never improve.

  3. What a great talent! As I reflect on the experiences in life that have allowed me to progress the most, this principle is a common thread. We must be willing to "act" in order to progress, which often requires the leaving of our established comfort zone, as well as brings about a shift in our paradigm. Thanks for your post!
