Kendon, I agree that multi-tasking is a great way to manage time efficiently. But, like you said, we have to be careful that we make time for focusing on the most important things in our lives. Some things should not fall into our multi-tasking category. For example, if you were out on a date with your wife, I'm sure she would appreciate the fact that you were actually spending time with her and only her rather than checking your email or texting your buddies. For me at least, relationships go high up on that priority list.
I agree one hundred percent with both you and Charla! Multi-tasking can be a great way to get things done, and maybe a way to even have some fun while you are working, but it can't be used in all of the facets of our lives. There is a time and a season for everything, and for that I am grateful. While i may be running to finish my projects and at the same time be reading for my German class, i can appreciate the moments when i can sit and just peacefully spend time with my family and my husband.
I think that one of the most important skills I've learned in college is prioritizing. I feel like this is a skill I didn't really have when I was a freshman, and since I've learned it I am able to do much better in school and feel much better about life. I also really enjoyed Ephraim's and Emily's presentation on this in class. The idea of "if it will take 2 min or less" has really helped me be more productive.
