To excel, do what you do well...but don't forget everything else.

  1. I like this a lot, because I have a similar experience with sports. I've told myself for years that I can't play sports and that has prevented me from trying. I'm scared to play because I guess I think people won't want me on their team once they discover how poorly I play. If I do try, though, and let myself forget my lack of ability, then I'm actually not that bad. If we tell ourselves we can't do something, we miss out on the skills we could have acquired.

  2. Ben, you make a great point. While we may excel by doing what we are naturally talented in, that shouldn't prohibit us from turning our weaknesses into strengths.
