  1. Ephraim, I love this idea of preparing yourself emotionally to respond well to setbacks. I think this goes along with acquiring the Christlike attribute: humility. If we maintain a humble attitude, then we will be able to realize that we will likely make mistakes, we will likely not be perfect, and therefore we will likely run into setbacks. As long as this possibility is not a foreign concept to us, we will be able to deal with them better when they come.

    I think the hardest failures to deal with are the unanticipated ones...like divorce (as a dramatic example), or anything else you wouldn't want to expect. However, even through something as horrible as divorce, someone can maintain a great attitude by staying close to the Spirit through humility.

  2. I love this three-page sequence! It is interesting to think of those moments as moments of that we could fail. In finance today, we spoke about how we usually think of risks as being negative things, like a bad blind date or a car wreck. However, risks can be positive, like meeting your soul mate or making it home safely. These risky moments are moments when we could fail, but because of that risk, we create the opportunity for us to succeed.
