I've known about Special Olympics, but this is the first time I've heard of the paralympics.
I thought your concern about not being able to personally handle a physical disability was interesting. I've pondered that same thing. It's funny how disability changes our goal from proving to be different from others to proving to be no different from others. Eh, hope that made sense.
It would be great to watch the Paralympics. I wish I could have that chance. Of course, watching the actually Olympics would also be pretty sweet. There are a few things that I am grateful I don't have to bear. Mostly, physical disabilities are not really something I worry too much about. Loosing my sense of hearing is what scares me the most. I can't imagine a life without the ability to listen to music. Interesting how people differ.
