Lessons from Mario

  1. Angie doesn't believe that I learn lessons from video games. This is a great adaptation of it. I also like games where the use of your agency determines your reputation. As far as your choice of quote, this goes back to the scriptural idea of agency, that men are agents to act and not to be acted upon. We must be proactive in finding solutions and seeking for breakthroughs.

  2. Its always the worst when you get caught behind a wall that you can't jump over but because the screen is moving too fast you can't go back to a ledge and make the jump... that's the worst.

So yea, good quote. Act or die. Better to make decisions than be hesitant and not accomplish anything.

  3. Kendon, great picture.

Having said that...is it really worth trying if you're going to fail anyway? For example, in your Mario analogy--let's say that you can't get past the first pitfall and die. Let's continue to say that you run out of lives and continues...and the game ENDS. Are they really more valiant than someone who had the sense to sit back and not even attempt?

    ...Just a thought.
