  1. Ahhhh! This hurts my heart! I remember so well from soccer that feeling of psychologically giving up and seeing that in your teammates. I'm so sorry about this experience. It makes me wonder how much of success is really in our heads. If we only had the faith to make it happen... but then where do you draw the line between truly trying your best and still failing, and not giving it 100%? I guess only the individual can know. And sometimes it seems easier to fail having only given 50% than 100%.

On a design note - I really like the green tennis ball / purple contrast. Also, the heading is a nice eye catcher and gives a clear idea of what this is all about.

  2. I understand the pain that comes from being so close and still not reaching the goal. However, I congratulate you on getting so far. That is a great accomplishment. It's hard, but we can often feel better about what we've done when we look at how far we got, not just how far we had left to go.

  3. Dang. That is such a bummer! I remember feeling that way about track back in the day. We always did really well until there was pressure and something just slipped in our minds.
It's so interesting that even though we may be physically prepared for something, our thoughts and emotions can get the better of us. But it's these kinds of experiences that teach us to soldier on and put mind over matter in the future! Like Christa said, we need to have the faith to make it happen. And if it still doesn't happen, we need to have the strength to hold our heads high and celebrate the things we HAVE accomplished.
