Your post goes along really well w/ the next one, addressing the importance of perspective. Staying in the present is important, but without the context of past and future it's easy to get lost.
That is an admirable goal. Traveling is great isn't it? It really can open yours eyes. And that helps you to figure out where in life you are and where it is you want to be going. Movement is the antithesis of stagnation, which is, in my opinion, to be avoided at all costs.

Kendon mentioned that traveling really opens our eyes. I can't help but agree. I have learned so much about people, even America, my own worldview, from having just stepped across the boarder. Sometimes it doesn't take some serious contemplation, some intense study of behavior, or some insane course of study that opens our minds to our life--simply seeing the world can be part of that.
