That's really cool. I would agree that true strength is spiritual and emotional strength. That kind of strength is definitely a gift from God. We can't do it all on our own and I don't think we were meant to. However, when we rely on God and learn to ask for help, we become stronger. He will send His Spirit to strengthen and comfort us. He will also send friends to help us when we don't feel strong.
Well said, actually I just read this chapter in the scriptures with my husband. I did notice something about the stripling warriors in the reading that i had never noticed before. As well all may recall none of the stripling warriors died in battle, but yet it does say that all were wounded. Gaining strength through the lord does mean that we will have trials, but just as those warriors, we will grow stronger and make it through the battles in this life.
Talyn, I absolutely agree! When thinking of those 'strong' people who have made an everlasting impression in my life, it has nothing to do with their physical stamina. Look at President Hinckley for instance, although short and somewhat fragile in later years, he was undoubtedly one of the most powerful and 'strong' defenders for that which was right and true. Great post! (And funny finding with the Football team!:) )
