Kendon on Salience

  1. As a future teacher, I have taken several classes that are focused on and centered around making classroom activities salient for students. My professors have emphasized the importance of effectively utilizing visual aids, and implementing a wide variety of learning activities that get students to move around the room. It is important to somehow stimulate all the senses in the learning process. This helps students not only pay attention and gain interest, but it also increases memory retention.

  3. Kendon,
First of all, I would just like to say that getting to see you teach my class today was awesome because I saw you making class more enjoyable and interesting by your ability to make students think outside the box and just by your approach to students' questions. I think you were able in a way to capture an "out-of-classroom" experience for us, though we were in a classroom.
